Tree Surgeon Town Moor – Our Services
Tree Pruning:
LIFTING – is what we do to raise the crown / canopy of a tree. It includes pruning or the removal of branches to improve the distance from the base of the canopy and the ground. It is generally carried out to improve access or provide visibility beneath the canopy.
THINNING – This involves the reduction in the denseness of the crown. This operation won"t normally be completed on conifers, so it is generally restricted to deciduous broadleaf trees. Trees and shrubs may be crowned thinned to reduce damage that can result from crown resistance to strong winds. Crown thinning can also be carried out to allow more and light into and through the canopy.
DEADWOODING – This is removing deadwood from the trees and shrubs and is generally carried out for cosmetic and also safety reasons.
CLEANING OUT – This consists of removing dead, diseased, destroyed, weakened and crossing branches. Epicormic expansion and watershoots can also be removed. Cleaning out also entails removing foriegn things and climbing plants such as Ivy.
Tree Felling:
When necessary, there are 2 ways of doing this.
DISMANTLTLING OR DIRECTIONAL FELLING – Frequently space is limited and the tree must be taken down piece by piece. If the region below the tree is clear from obstructions small trimmed branches can be permitted to fall to the ground. When branches are large and heavy then ropes will be used.
DIRECTIONAL FELLING – Where space and safety permit the tree may then be felled without trouble.
Stump Removal/Grinding:
STUMPS – Stumps of any size can be removed cleanly and effectively using our specialist stump grinding equipment. The tree stump is ground down, normally to a depth of between 6″ to 10″ below the ground, it can be deeper depending on your requirements.
The gap is then filled back up using the grindings and the excess is piled back onto the the hole.
Hedge Cutting:
HEDGE CUTTING AND TRIMMING – We can undertake all types of hedges to be trimmed or reduced in height. This will increase the appearance of your hedge and also let more light into your garden. Because of the selection of equipment we own, all sizes of hedges can be tackled.
