Tree Surgeon Battle Field – Our Services

Tree Pruning:Tree Surgeon Battle Field

LIFTING – is the method to improve the crown / canopy of a tree. It involves pruning or the removal of branches to improve the distance from the base of the canopy and the ground. It is normally carried out to improve access to or provide visibility beneath the canopy.

THINNING – This involves the decrease in the density of the crown. This operation won"t normally be completed on conifers, so it is generally restricted to deciduous broadleaf trees. Trees and shrubs may be crowned thinned to reduce damage which could derive from crown resistance to strong winds. Crown thinning may also be carried out to allow more and light into and through the canopy.

DEADWOODING – This calls for the removal of deadwood from the trees and shrubs and is generally carried out for cosmetic as well as safety reasons.

CLEANING OUT – This consists of the removal of dead, diseased, ruined, weak and crossing branches. Epicormic development and watershoots may also be removed. Cleaning out also entails the removal of foriegn items and climbing plants such as Ivy.

Tree Felling:

When necessary, there are 2 ways of doing this.

DISMANTTree Surgeon Battle FieldLTLING OR DIRECTIONAL FELLING – Very often space is bound and the tree must dismantled piece by piece. If the region below the tree is clear from obstructions small cut branches can be allowed to fall to the ground. When branches are large and heavy then ropes must be used.

DIRECTIONAL FELLING – Where space and safeness allow the tree may then be felled without trouble.

Stump Removal/Grinding:

STUMPS – Stumps of any size can be removed cleanly and proficiently using our specialist stump grinding equipment. The tree stump is milled down, normally to a depth of between 6″ to 10″ below the ground, this may be deeper depending on the needs you have.

The gap is then filled back up using the grindings and extra is piled back onto the the hole.

Hedge Cutting:

HEDGE CUTTING AND TRIMMING – We are able to undertake all types of hedges to be trimmed or lowered in height. This will enhance the appearance of your hedge and also let more light into the garden. Due to the selection of equipment we own, all sizes of hedges can be tackled.
